Alice In Wonderland

Race to Wonderland

For this project, I reimagined three characters from Alice in Wonderland by translating their wardrobes into modern race car one-piece suits. I was inspired by the checkered patterns that appear throughout the story in references to playing cards and chess, which naturally connect to racing culture. I also incorporated the idea of the Caucus Race, since its chaotic, circular nature felt similar to the energy of a racetrack.

Alice’s blue dress and apron were redesigned as a streamlined blue racing jumpsuit with white paneling to echo her original look. The Queen of Hearts was reimagined in a black one-piece suit with red accents and heart motifs to reflect her commanding personality. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum were given matching yellow jumpsuits with playful color blocking and mirrored symmetry. For all three designs, I drew color, pattern, and style inspiration from the Disney animated version of Alice in Wonderland, since it is the most recognizable adaptation.
